Foraged & Sown is a first generation, woman owned and operated certified organic farm in central Ohio.  We are a small and hardworking team who are passionate about delicious flavorful food and beverages.  We specialize in herbs, alliums, and berries, and value-added products made with our crops including tea, salts, preserves, and syrups. We sell our crops and products at farmers markets, online through our website, at retail outlets, and wholesale to several Columbus cafes. We also offer a selection of certified organic seedlings in the spring, by online preorder and at farmers markets. Being a part of the Foraged & Sown team offers a wide range of experience, as everyone can be closely involved with many aspects of growing, harvesting, processing, production, and sales.

We have three primary work locations. Our 3.5 acre farm is located in West Jefferson, 22 miles west of the Columbus city center. Our greenhouses are located in the Linden neighborhood of Columbus. Our commercial kitchen production occurs at the ECDI Food Fort in the Milo-Grogan neighborhood of Columbus. This year’s farmers markets are in the greater Columbus area: Worthington, Clintonville, and Bexley.

Day-to-day tasks shift throughout the season include but are not limited to: seeding and planting, greenhouse work, weeding, harvesting, processing, packing orders, selling at markets, and delivering orders. Our days are often a mix of team and solo projects. There is plenty of room for each person to contribute to specific, self-managed projects or cultivate a new skill set as part of a small team.

Qualifications and Requirements:

The ideal candidate is punctual, self-motivated, and driven to work hard, with a proactive work ethic, a willingness to offer and receive feedback, as well as be responsible for their work. They must also be able to carry out tasks as instructed, with or without supervision. Can repeatedly lift 40-50 lbs, squat, bend, and perform physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions. Must have a smartphone to be able to independently utilize technology including Slack, scheduling app, and Point of Sale system.

Minimum of 2 years farm experience is suggested. Experience working retail or a farmer’s market is preferred. General handy-ness, food production experience, and walk-behind tractor experience are bonuses.  Please provide references with your resume.

Team members must have a valid driver's license and are responsible for their own transportation to the work site each day.

Schedule and Compensation:
